LPMS eighth grader Adam Rusak is now a Top 10 finalist for the 2012 National Geographic Bee! The top 10 finishers in today's preliminary round — from the field of 54 state-level winners who participated — will compete in the final round to be held at the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C., on 5/24. First prize is a $25,000 college scholarship, lifetime membership in the National Geographic Society and a trip to the Galápagos Islands. Second- and third-place winners receive $15,000 and $10,000 college scholarships respectively. The finals will be simulcast in prime time on the National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo WILD on 5/24 at 8 p.m. Good luck, Adam!
The QOHS boys’ lacrosse team is holding a charity shoot-a-thon at the school on 5/24, 4-6 p.m. to benefit the Lollipop Kids Foundation, a local charity serving children with disabilities age 0-21.
